“Collapse”and “Darkness”; two facets of sorrow, two sides of extreme doom metal, two long songs combined into one monumental split album. England’s Eye of Solitude offers”Collapse,” a marching doom track shrouded in a thick smoky atmosphere, and carrying the grandeur of the band’s latest offerings. Of equal crushing proportion, Belgium’s Marche Funèbre presents “Darkness,” an epic doom-death track that combines their signature blend of riff and growl, along with powerful melodies and clean vocal passages.Clocking at approximately 30 minutes, this dual offering should please fans of extreme doom metal, and mark a new chapter in the lives of both bands as they embark on their first North American tour.
This Eye of Solitude/Marche Funèbre split album will be released by Hypnotic Dirge Records and Cimmerian Shade Recordings, in a 6-panel digipack edition of 500 copies, on February 22, 2018. The bleak artwork was created by multi-instrumentalist Daniel Neagoe (Eye of Solitude, Clouds, Shape of Despair, Pantheist).
The cult of sorrow has never been so vivid.
1 – Eye of Solitude – Collapse (16:14)
2 – Marche Funèbre – Darkness (14:11)

Chris Davies – Bass
Steffan Gough – Guitar
Remco Verhees – Drums
Dennis Lefebvre – Drums

CSR is proud to announce joining forces with Spanish Death Metal band Sönambula.
Rapha Decline, one of the founding members of Typhareth (the band formed in Bilbao in 1994)
decides to put aside his personal project called Decline to join other musicians and give
birth to a new band: Sönambula, consisting of Maider (drummer), Rapha (guitar and vocals)
and Estrella (bass).
Taking the death metal bands from the end of the 80s and beginning of the 90s as a reference,
Sönambula is born rawly, heavily and darkly, with songs that can remind us at some moments
of bands such as Winter, Necrophagia, Autopsy, Asphyx, Entombed, etc.
They soon enter the studio in order to record their first work in the form of an EP called
HILEN ARGIA; a humble recording that captures the essence of their death metal sound:
simple, heavy, dirty, with a remarkable darkness: their own particular brand. The EP
immediately drew the attention of the recording label Base Record, who took charge of its
edition and release to the underground sewers. Countless media have shown interest in it and,
trying to describe the sound of Sönambula, several labels have been used, such as Death, Black,
Sludge, or Doom, but there’s something all of them agree with: it’s a raw and dark sound.
Since their beginning in 2015, the band has given numerous shows across the Spanish land: Sala
Tunk, Moon Rock, Sentinel, Darkness, Utopia, Morgui, La Calleja, Infernu, Mogambo,
Frenopatico, Santana, Nave Atmoshphera 0, Nave Bunker, Stage Live Bilbao.
Halfway through February, they enter TyK studios in order to record their new work, which
will be named SECUELA and will be edited by the label Base Record at the beginning of April.
10 songs recorded along just two days. The album is made up of the 4 songs in the EP and 6 new
ones. This time production reflects more precisely the sound that the band plays live, it being
thicker and more brutal.
Currently, the band is writing what will be their second album; that’s why the live appearances
have decreased. However, in one of their latest dates they have supported the legendary band
Master as they have played in Bilbao.
SECUELA will be reissued in cassette, vinyl and CD formats.
Sönambula‘s second album will be released in late 2018 in cassette, vinyl and CD formats.

Almost three after the release of their three song EP “Atum”, DUSKBURN are returning with a savage new full-length: “Serpentide”. With “Serpentide”, DUSKBURN have returned to the brutal Doom Metal of their earlier days. Instead of the more laid back approach taken on “Atum”, “Serpentide” delivers an ugly crunching kick to the head with each riff and does not let up for the entire length of the album. However, like “Atum”, “Serpentide” is meticulously crafted and does not rest on its meaty riff laurels but makes room for plenty of heady songwriting.
Don’t miss out on this Doom Metal opus!
Digital release date: Friday February 2, 2018.
Limited edition cassette release date: To be decided
CSR is proud to announce that we will be joining forces with the incredicly dynamic music ensemble known as TARANTIST to bring their upcoming album to the streets.
Formed in 2000 by a group of young underground metal heads, TARANTIST originated in the basement alternative rock and heavy metal scenes in their native Tehran, Iran. Having to perform secretly-but-loudly often proved to be difficult, but after sparking a following via word of mouth in the underground, the band soon began to garner international recognition. Within just a few years, international media correspondents inspired by their story (including BBC, SKY, CNN, NPR, Metal Hammer and Kerrang) started visiting Tehran to meet and talk with TARANTIST. These news reports and articles aided TARANTIST in cultivating a worldwide following – motivating the band to relocate to the United States Los Angeles in 2008.
Although remaining positive, TARANTIST quickly found that they weren’t able to fully escape the pressures they faced back home, stemming from “not being Muslim enough”. Once they arrived in the United States, they experienced opposite – uncomfortable stereotypes and assumptions directed at them simply based on their culture and/or how they looked – all the while never practicing religion in the first place. Determined, TARANTIST didn’t let this slow them down. After growing some roots in North America, the band was invited to play several festivals like SXSW, CMJ, Canadian Music Week and Intergalactic Fest. TARANTIST quickly added to their touring repertoire, performing on the same stages as Metallica, Motörhead, Stone Temple Pilots, Muse, Cheap Trick, Voivod, Sum 41, My Ruin, Ben Harper and many more.
Similar to what their name suggests (tarantism is defined as a mania characterized by an uncontrollable impulse to dance, popularly attributed to the bite of the tarantula), TARANTIST‘s music is energetic and keeps the listener moving and headbanging, incorporating a true heavy metal sound mixed with exotic, Iranian flavor. The band’s lyricism focuses on themes of anti-extremism, anti-corporate system, human rights and support thereof – including women’s rights, religious rights, and freedom of expression in the arts.
Regarding their last release, “Not A Crime”, bassist/vocalist Arash says, “Instead of writing and singing in English like we usually do, for Not A Crime, we decided to sing/write in Farsi because we felt we need to pay our dues to the Farsi-speaking community and make history with something like this. The kids of Iran (like everywhere else) are being brainwashed by the propaganda and state media. We feel the new generation needs a fresh and uncensored source of awareness, un-diluted music and content, and original material. With this album, we aim to raise awareness regarding human rights issues/violations, freedom of expression in art and music, as well as educating the society and new generation through the story of our lives and what we’ve been through as of today. If interested, all of our lyrics are available in English at www.tarantist.com.
Musically, we’ve incorporated some traditional Persian instruments (Zarb, Santoor), with electric guitars, bass, synths and heavy riffs. Like always, we strive to create combination of new sounds and tones in a groovy way that we ourselves love!”
TARANTIST is currently hard at work writing and recording demos for their new release later in 2018.
