Ukrainian Thrash/Death Metal band RE:SPAWN was formed in October 2015 in Kiev by three friends: Alex Makeyev (bass/vocals), Grigoriy Nazarov (vocals/guitars) and Igor Korinovskiy (drums). They each brought something unique to the band, having had abundant experience playing in a wide variety of bands. The trio therefore had a rich collection of material for the newly formed band. Soon RE:SPAWN started recording the first tracks. There were no strict genre boundaries, as each member had their own musical vision and this was reflected in the sound of the band: a mix of different genres and styles, all the while remaining true to the Thrash/Death Metal sound. . The music mostly covers various forms of Death Metal while touching upon other Metal genres such as Southern Metal, flavoured with heavy lead Thrash Metal riffs and a grooving drum beat. In the summer of 2016, a fourth member, Nikita Larionov (guitars), joined the band and brought more variety to the RE:SPAWN’s sound and style. Lyrical themes of the band cover a variety of themes: most deal with extraordinary points of view of social problems and human vices, while a certain amount of levity is included when the band explores its own diversions: partying, drinking and having fun. The overall tone is tongue-in-cheek, as all subject matter is explored with a mixture of thoughtfulness, humour and sarcasm. Their first EP, Inverted, was recorded in Kiev in 2016. It contains five tracks and is awaiting a late 2017/early 2018 release to bring some uncommonly crushing Metal to the masses. Inverted will be available in LP, CD, cassette and digital formats. T-shirt bundles will also be available.
